NZ Service Announcement | 8 February 2022
US Weather conditions affecting pickups and deliveries
Please be advised the US has experienced severe weather conditions from the Southwest all the way through to the New England states. Please see states listed below and plan for extensive service interruptions for this week and all of next week.
Our LTL & Local carriers have advised of terminal closures due to icing and snow conditions that are making the roadways impassable and unsafe to drive. As you can see by the service map below the items in red and yellow are carriers terminal closures. Majority of the carriers in the weather impacted regions have been closed since Thursday 3rd February.
You must keep in mind that for every day for which a carrier closes they will be back logged for 2 extra days. If a carrier has to close as an example for more then 3 days you can expect pickups and all deliveries to be affected with at least 7 to 10 days behind
You’re asking yourself why? With the current capacity issues our transport carriers are facing and being short on drivers and equipment, the carriers need to get equipment empty and clear their terminals loading docks. Pickups are typically put on hold until the carriers can get their terminals cleared. Carriers will focus on making deliveries first in order to free up equipment.
States that have terminals closed are as follows:
New Mexico | Indiana |
Texas | Kentucky |
Oklahoma | Ohio |
Arkansas | Pennsylvnia |
Tennesse | New York |
Missouri | New Hampshire |
Parts of Colorado | Massachusetts |
Kansas | Vermont |
Illinois | Maine |
Michigan |
